Which changes to a website are good for SEO?
I am told that making frequent changes to my website are good for the search engines.
Is that so, and if so, does this only mean changes to the content? Or also to lay-out or design or style?
Also, is it true that even minor changes (changing a word here and there) is sufficient?
Anyone who knows?
Thanks a lot

i find getting up high on yahoo quite easy with just good meta tags using description and keywords, but when it comes to google it uses a different technology (spider) whereas yahoo is indexed. it is difficult but you cant always be changing the style or layout its usually just adding news and maybe different banners keeping it updated like that, not that im an expert its one area where ive found it difficult.

Yes content updating regularly does affect a lot in SEO for traffic and SERP. Changing 2 to 3 words here or there wont work at all and just adding anything wont work just copy paste doesn’t play a good role in it well you need to update content but not just a short note or something you just have to try to add new and unique content at your website as soon as possible.
Well saying content change doesn’t mean you can’t change your web design. Well you can change your web design but only if u feel the need to.
Regular updates do help a lot in not only from SEO perspectives but also from a company perspective too it helps in expanding your business needs and try to add the new services,
As web world is a transparent and the most prominent marketing media so regular updates would help you to return your user to view your new updates and yes from SEO point of view changes means content and keywords in those content is something you have to be clear while using.
Well below in source there is one example from another forum where someone is discussing on how much it have helped him by regular updates in his website
