Google’s Marissa Mayer Takes Over Location, Local Services

Marissa Mayer, Google’s vice president of search products, is leaving behind search. She’ll take on a new role within the company, as Google pushes more into location and local services, Bloomberg reports.
Mayer, who has helped design, develop, and evolve Google’s search interface, has helped launch more than 100 features and products on Google.com, including, most recently, Instant. She has also worked on Gmail, Google News, Google Maps, Google Earth, and iGoogle.
